School district looking for feedback on next superintendent
TUPPER LAKE – As the Tupper Lake Central School District begins the process of searching for someone to serve in the role of superintendent of schools, the district’s Board of Education is looking for input from the school community about what characteristics will be important to look for in a new leader.
The district has launched a survey to gather feedback. The survey, called a ThoughtExchange, gives participants the opportunity to submit thoughts to respond to an open-ended question. Then other survey participants are invited to rate all of the thoughts. This method lets the most thoughts with the most consensus behind them rise to the top. Current Tupper Lake CSD Superintendent Russell Bartlett plans to retire at the end of the school year.
The board has enlisted the help of Franklin-Essex-Hamilton BOCES District Superintendent Dale Breault Jr. to facilitate the process to search for superintendent candidates. Breault and the board plan to start advertising the job and accept applications soon.
Once the board has narrowed the pool down to a few candidates, they will invite candidates to meet with various groups of stakeholders in the school community, including staff, students and families.
