Grades 6-12 Google Password Updates

In preparation for Chromebook pickups on 8/22, we will be resetting all district Google account passwords for students in Grades 6-12 during the evening of 8/21. This is being done to boost student account security, as well as online safety for our students and our network.

When students log in for the first time after the password reset command is sent, they may be asked to type in their old password before being prompted to choose their new password.

The new password will need to be at least 8 characters in length and should include at least one capital letter, one number, and one symbol.

Here are some tips for choosing a new password:

  • Create passwords that are easy to remember but hard for others to guess.

  • Longer passwords are harder for others to guess, but don't make it so long that you cannot remember it.

  • Include numbers, capital letters and symbols. Consider using a $ instead of an S or a 1 instead of an L, or including an & or % or @.

  • Don't share it with anyone except your parents/guardians.
Technology team staff will be onsite at school the afternoon/evening of 8/22 during Chromebook pickups to assist with password changes if you get stuck. You can also email [email protected] for assistance.
