Annual Professional Performance Review
Annual Professional Performance Review (APPR)
Evaluation of Teachers and other TLUT Members, as per Article VII of the Collective Bargaining Agreement
A Teacher Performance rating shall be derived from evidence-based observation and evaluation, and shall be based on multiple measures and grounded in the New York State Teaching Standards. Evidence for evaluations may come from formal classroom observations, walk-through observations, and other resources provided by the teacher or administrator through the observation process. NYSUT's teacher practice rubric will be used to evaluate teacher practice. By August 1st of each year, the association will provide a prioritized list of performance indicators to be considered for inclusion in the unannounced evaluation process. At least fifty percent of the total number of performance indicators used in the subsequent year's evaluation process will be taken from the prioritized list starting with the highest prioritized indicator.
